hey everyone..... going to be working on the road for a couple months in the mankato st. peter area. Wondering if there are any decent places not too far from there where a guy can fish some cats (preferably flatheads) from shore since I wont have my boat. Thanks for any help.

There are plenty of places you can try. Right under the bridge in St. Peter is okay, so is right near the landing. There was a sand bar just upstream from the landing at the first bend that could be good. Along 169 in between St. Pete and Mankato, there are a few wingdams and I've seen people fishing off them. Also the nine mile creek inlet at the public landing in between the two towns.

The public landing at Sibley Park in Kato can have some fish too, right where the Blue Earth enters. These are just a few community spots and they may and may not hold fish right now.
