Has anyone used Tofte Charters? I plan on using them in the begining of August and was curious if anyone has used them.

I have used Tofte charters on many occasions, and can honestly say you will be fishing with the best and most knowledgable captain on lake superior. Every time we go out we fill out on our fish and have a great time. You won't be disappointed going out on this boat. I would highly recommend tofte charters to anyone. Russ

RussR,Welcome to the board and thanks for the info. Me and my new bride will be going out the first week of August with Tofte and are looking forward to it. She gets a little nervous about boat rides in big lakes so I hope it is calm so she can enjoy it. What is the biggest fish you have caught with them?

Say I was wondering what the costs are for a charter? Most likely it would only be a half day, but if anyone knows what the prices are that would be great. They supply all the gear don't they?

Thanks in advance!

Tofte Charters is the best choice on the north shore. I have fished with Darren (Capt) many times. No one fishes harder than him. Hopefully the weather (wind) will cooperate. If you have fun, he also does ice fishing charters for lakers if you ever visit Tofte in the winter. MDC

[No un authorized links] He supplies all the gear, but bring clothes for cold weather and food if you want it. From what I hear the fishing is picking up- up there, hopefully that will continue for you. MDC

I keep and eat fish also.  I was just reacting with a snide remark to a tone of "I want some fish to eat, got any spots" that perhaps was unintended .   If so, I apologize.    Many of the streams in SE Minnesota are populated primarily with native brown trout, and the DNR information is reasonably reliable.  There was a major kill in summer 2015 on the very popular south branch Whitewater river and I don't know how the recovery is coming along.    Cause still unknown.      Some recent info....(not about kill)   http://www.postbulletin.com/sports/outdoors/giving-nature-and-anglers-a-hand/article_dfe73b76-5cd9-520c-834f-7d4101a40b2e.html   http://www.postbulletin.com/sports/outdoors/john-weiss-trout-cooperate-for-a-fantastic-opener/article_2b106b9b-595f-5bee-8c3b-ceb761179da1.html   The DNR stocking activity is accessible from Lakefinder.   Here is the info for rainbow trout for 2016, the latest year available.  It will give you an idea of the activities.     http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/showstocking.html?year=2016&county=&species=RBT
