Sherman on the hot seat....

From foxsports.com.....

What does everyone think? Is he a victim of the cap problems that eventually get every successful team or his own personnel decisions?

Sherman's final stand in Green Bay?

Packers coach Mike Sherman can't be feeling too good about his future in Green Bay these days.

New Packers personnel boss Ted Thompson returned to Green Bay this off-season from Seattle at a difficult time. The future is uncertain as future Hall of Famer Brett Favre is winding down his career, but the Pack must remain competitive while he's still playing quarterback. At the same time, the man who lost his title to Thompson, Mike Sherman, is still on the sidelines.

Thompson does have more security at quarterback for the long-term with first-round rookie Aaron Rodgers coming aboard, but he is faced with some extremely difficult decisions for this season due to salary issues.

Sherman lost three cornerstones of his playoff teams — starting guards Mike Wahle and Marco Rivera, plus safety and defensive leader Darren Sharper. The only saving grace is that they didn't play left tackle, quarterback and cornerback.

The defense has been an Achilles' heel for Sherman the past few seasons. He's hired a new defensive coordinator in Jim Bates, but the personnel situation is no better than last season. The closest thing to immediate help through the draft could be fourth-round safety Marviel Underwood.

There is absolutely no pass rush outside of Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila. They lack playmakers throughout this defense.

Thompson is doing the right thing by trying to clean up the Packers' salary structure. The Pack weren't moving forward under Sherman's personnel decisions.

As for Sherman the coach, the future doesn't feel too comfortable as Thompson likely prefers to have his own man patrolling the sidelines, especially following an uncomfortable changing of the guard atop the Green Bay hierarchy.

The NFC North will be a lot tougher this season with Chicago and Detroit expecting to be more competitive, while Minnesota has significantly upgraded its defense. So much for off-season optimism

The only problem Sherman has is that he is in no way a head coach in anyway except his title, never has been and never will be. He might be a decent assistant coach. I still can not believe they gave this man the GM and the head coach position and would not give it to Holmgren.

HunterFisher Don't rule out trying that lake again. If theres a lot of wood in the water those schools could, be pinned down on other trees than you were fishing. Trust me I have a lake near Glenwood i fish that has a bunch of tress scattered throughout the lake. It took me numerous times fishing it to figure out patterns on that lake. But once i found them well worth it!  I have found lakes with a lot of submerged trees or wood usally hold some real good panfish, . They have plenty of places to hide from predators and anglers through out the seasons.

See you tomorrow Jeff we'll dial them in

Keep checking in here for any updates.  There's a very good chance that the location may change a bit as there have not been a lot of catfish at the methhole area.  Prefishing in the next day or so will help us pin down a location.  I will post any changes here.

A lake like that with no real hole or structure lends itself to roaming fish.  If there is a defined weededge that will be your structure.  Electronics are not going to show you much until the fish is on your bait.  Drill a lot of holes and move around until you catch fish.

Hay thanks for your input.... Just got home and got skunked!!!!! But that is ok at least now I know to take it off my list of lakes to fish in the winter, but will be back on it come spring and early summer...

Caught 17 walleyes on Friday, but all were dinks except for two 15".  Caught 6 more Saturday, all small again except for one 16".  Also caught a 12 inch perch, 3 eelpout, and 2 tulibee. Considering the snowstorm prediction for Sunday, I pulled my house off the lake and parked it back in the garage for the season.  LOW next week, then onto lakers the following weekend.

I think that the 4 I caught this winter were tulibees, including this one yesterday. I think that the 4 I caught this winter were tulibees, including this one yesterday.
