Bow Recommendation

3 posts in this topic

I am looking to buy a bow and get back into bowhunting after about a 15 year break. I found a fairly nice Parker 70lb bow fully set up with rest, sights, etc for around $400. Just wondering what you all would recommend as a good bow to start out with. I did bowhunt a bit in my younger days, but havent really kept up on the technology and improvements over the last several years. Any help would be much appreciated!

Decide your price range and then go shoot a bunch of bows fitting the criteria. All are respectable as junk bows just won't survive in the bow market. I wouldn't worry much about the make or model, find one you are comfortable shooting.

Price range and fit....shoot and feel...make sure it fits you....most important advice...name brand doesn't matter if it doesn't fit the archer!

Day two was a bit different than day one for us.  Much slower mid day resulting 50 fish for the day.  A couple of 23" being the biggest.    ESE wind caused a different approach Today that challenged me a bit.  As well as the river was VERY BUSY today!   Water conditions appeared to stay fantastic as far as current and clarity,  should be a nice week ahead for those coming up.

We have fished both days out of Vidas.

Buddy of mine just drove past the Big and Littlefork rivers on hwy11, said ice bank to bank on both. Even saw fresh tracks from snowmobiles on them. So for whatever that's worth guys and gals.

Took the boat out on Cedar Island today.  Water was 39 and crappie were deep.  Large bay at access was iced over but could hug the shore and make it around.  Otherwise it was mostly open.

Tipups we are between Springsteel and Warroad right now. Still driving trucks and wheelhouses out about 24" of ice.
