Shore fishing

I was wondering if there was any good places to try to catch catfish from the shore. i have never been catfish fishing and any tips would help. i was also wondering about any decent walleye spots from the shore that are paying off. i am going to be around lake city this weekend and i have had no luck on lake pepin yet.

There arre shorefishing opportunities all up and down the river and with warmer water coming the catfish should be running in a higher gear. To expand on the availability of shore spots, I'd concentrate my efforts from just north of Lake City down to Wabasha.
