Cabin help

5 posts in this topic

I need a little help from my FM Brothers. The Inlaws are looking for a cabin and they ask for me help. They like a the brainerd area. They have a few picked out. Has anyone fished Mile lake or Whipple lake? What do you think. Any other suggstions would be great.

Haven't been on Mile but Whipple is a very good bass lake and a pretty good crappie lake.

I heard that Mile Lake has some pretty big largemouth bass in it. I believe it's completely private all around the lake (except for maybe the Hwy 210 right of way?), so it wouldn't surprise me to have a stable fish population. Someone told me that while the lake is small, it does get to 20 feet deep. I can't confirm it, but at least that's what I heard.

Hey guys thanks for the input. I guess the property they are looking at is on both Whipple and Mile. Both lakes sound petty good. Dan I'll give them your info.

There are two main spawning spots on Vermilion that I know of. I'm near the one on the west end of Vermilion. The walleye haven't been as good on this end yet they don't pull any fish out from here. They've been pulling walleye out of the east end spawning spot in Pike Bay, and for some reason walleye have been doing better over there.   I have no doubt that there are many variables that go into the equation, but you can't ignore that the end they put the 10% back into has been doing better than the one where they leave it alone.
