buzzsaw, yes the water levels are in the normal range for this time of the year. They have started to rise as the snow melt is about complete and there is quite a bit of run off. Expecting rain this weekend or the first part of the week so things should continue to rise. Talking with folks on the Ash River most of the river so now free of ice. Looks like a normal spring ice out here. Get fired up for those spring eyes. Fishkab

Buzzsaw, looks like an early ice out for this year, with as they mentioned normal to above normal levels at opener.

Usually if the ice goes out early, like a couple of weeks or so before opener, the water warms up nicely and fishing is on the good side, along with the possibility of some crappie fishing. If the water is considerably warmer that normal on opener, it could be a jackpot for some nice smallies. Dust off the tackle boxes, tie up some snells and get ready. guts
