Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

RESORTS

Can anyone recommend a resort for 6-10 guys that enjoy cold beer and get slightly loud at times? This is our one week a year away from the wives so there is a little complaining to be done. Also a resort with a lodge is a plus.

Thanks all.

Sloppy,

Grand View Lodge on the north end of Gull has some nice cabins.

Sounds like you guys are in for a great weekend. Grand View is a great choice. One resort that might work out real well for you is Breezy Point up on Pelican. Lots of cabins with a bar/restaurant right there, plus a couple of others close by. I highly recommend Pestello's bar/grill in Pequot Lakes.

I agree with Breezy Point. Going up there next weekend for a week. There are several cabins and condo type deals up there. Some are under Breezy point and some are under White Birch. When are you going up there? I have a timeshare that i could possibly get you guys a cabin in Breezy Point for a week. Would be a lot cheaper then renting one for a week. Just something to consider. Let me know.

Pestello's Bar is a nice hidden little gem of a bar...one of my favorites.

Breezy Point sounds good. Fishing, Golf, and Beer sounds like a perfect combo. We're planning on a July trip. Yeah that would be helpful if you knew of a way to save a few bucks.

Thanks for the info.

Sorry for no more live updates. Got too busy fishing...lol Pretty decent morning bite, slow afternoon, followed up by a very good evening bite. Plenty of noce fish caught if you worked for them.

Looks like you had a better bite than I did. I really didn’t expect all my gear to be that bad hand pulling out.  Big time failure on my part to not bring my wheeler.  I have too much of a spearing Jones to have left it all back at the truck. I brought a few gills, a seed, a crappie and a 25 inch walleye home.  Biggest gill went 8.  I went through a half dozen heavy pike suckers on the tip up but never dropped the spear.  Only saw one 20 incher that never really got in the hole.  The walleye inhaled the sucker and got the hooks in the throat. Glad you guys got some nice ones!

I found a new unopened Minnesota V6.0 on Craigslist for 75$ and it was only 2 miles from my house saved me a trip to Cabela's.

I’m sure we will still be waiting for a bit for even walkable ice but hopefully people in the area can keep there eyes and ears open and let the rest of us know how the ice is and when it get here.
