I've read reports of people catching crappies on sand in 16-30 of water. I'm tryin my darndest. I've moved my house five times and fished from 16',18',22',24',28'. Mostly around the sunken island and main hump/bar in the middle of the lake. Anyone got any reports to justify what they'r puttin in the papers. Any advice would be appreciated.

Crappies in Sand Lake??? Is this the sand lake off of 59? If it is, I wouldn't think that the bite there to be too overly active.

Do you mean the Stump near Hawley? I have heard that there are some crsppies in stump, but I never heard of anyone catching any.

I'll ask around, but I never have caught any.

Now that I think about it, I think a buddy of mine said he caught a few in the past. I have not heard anything recently, however. I think he was out in the middle by the sunken island. I think he was trying for walleyes.
