Nisswa Area Fishing Reports!

Recommended Posts

Wow even in this icy weather you diehards kept us busy today. Everyone please use caution on the ice, after this rain it could be pretty slippery in spots. Could be a good time to get some ice cleats.

With all the traffic today heard a few good reports. On Gull we are still catching the small ones but we are starting to catch a few decent fish in the 19-20 inch range. These fish are active on the shallow break in 14-16 feet. Jigging spoons or golden shiners have worked well. North Long has also produced a few nicer fish. If you are using shiners, don't be surprised if you hook into a Pike or two. Some nice northerns have been hungry the last day or two. Crappies and Sunfish are starting to bite OK up on Nisswa Lake. Most guys are using small glow jigs and maggots. We'll keep you posted on the latest.

Spent the morning out on Gull again today. Lots of active fish even with the cold wind. With the rain we had yesterday we lost our banking snow on the lakes. We caught lots of them but most were on the small side. Most of the week we've been tipping the jigging spoons with just a minnow head but today they showed a preference for a full fathead. It pays to keep trying different baits until the fish tell you whats best. Have a good weekend everyone!
