I was checking in to see if anyone has had any luck or heard of anyone catching any crappies? I noticed a few house out on the pond. Does anybody ever have any luck catching any walleyes out there during the winter? We have done O.K. during the boating season trolling cranks.

I will be out at sunrise sunday morning. I will not be chassing the crappies. I will be on the east side by the campgrounds. I will target the northerns and hope for a walleye or two. I have picked up a few eyes in the winter but not many. In the winter they have been all small. In the summer they are all big. good luck, ff

Fished ripley from 7 to 11am. Landed a couple northerns and one perch. I also had bait from 7/15 station and they were half dead by the time I got to litch.

Anyone know if they are getting crappies out in the middle of ripley. Drove by today and there were at least thirty houses out there, and a whole shore full of 4 wheelers ready to take more out. Houses pop up out on that lake like nothing, even if they are not bitting people will just start moving in. Any one got a report? ff

Hey FF - my brother-in-law was out this afternoon from 1:00pm-4:00pm. He caught 3 perch. He said the houses were coming out one after another.

If you guys are getting minnows from the 7/15 gas station, citgo or whatever it is with the scoops ice cream, go north a ways on 15 to the shell station, called the outpost. I still have my minnows from 10 days ago with no oxygen running and they're pretty frisky.

I was out tonight in the "crappie hole" and it was the dead sea. A few small perch and that was it. There was about 3" of water on top of the ice all over. I found out my waterproof boots are no longer waterproof....

There was about 11" where I was, plus a good 3" of water on top. It should all be froze back up solid now. Now if I could just find some active fish...

Hey Poutmaster,

Do you have that nice new fish house out on the lake yet? Your bro-in-law needs to catch some fish before he goes back. He aint getting any fishing with me.

Been a brutal hard water season for me as well, figured it was a continuation of my fall fishing luck.

Thanks guys.  I checked out Modis for ice coverage and Navionics to help understand how things are laid out.  Knowing what areas certain fish prefer and those typical depths is a big plus.

My wife and I are hoping to get up to Mille Lacs this Saturday and spend the night on the ice.  Does anyone have any last minute availability?  All the resorts I've contacted are booked. Thanks!

Thanks for your work guys! You were showin' some serious team spirit being out there today. I would have helped but I had a few appointments today I couldn't reschedule. I know I'm available Friday to do any last day scouting/fine tuning....

Definitely a grind out prefishing cats today for the gathering.  Weather made it to tough but I Jeff  and his brother pushed through the elements to try and find a few active schools .   Locating the schools were tough took a pile of holes and the augers got a workout for sure,  but fortunately  we did find a couple active schools. Jeff and his brother found a few on one lake and I found a decent school on another lake. The good news was that both schools were cruising shallow flats in both locations and about the same depths. Great news as this is a good indication they are feeding on these flats.   Amazeingly both schools were found on a inside corner. Bingo looks like we have a pattern formed. We iced and marked  a fair number of cats in both locations so things are looking good for Saturday. Plus is we added a few for the fish fry already  Jeff I'll keep plugging away out there hopefully I can dial them in even more I have a hunch there are a few more close by where we ended.
