Are They Driving On Rush Yet?

7 posts in this topic

I'm thinking of coming up tomorrow with the house on wheels. I think that the east end of Rush froze over quite early but am wanting to know if anyone has been driving on it.

i was out on monday and there were quite a few pickups out but only a few were going much past oak point. the ice under our house on monday was just shy of 13" (we are out just a little past oak point). i would think by now you could pretty easily find about 15" which should be plenty for you

Are there any lakes around Dent that you need to be extra carefull on? What about Silent, Star and Lida? Thanks.

Made it out there Christmas Eve and there was plenty of ice. Set up on the east side of the Horseshoe but possibly went too deep (18'). The ice that evening was 16" (it's at least 18" now). Fishing was kind of slow, only picked up 2 13-14" 'eyes the next morning. Water clarity wasn't too bad, visibility was 4-5' with the camera.

does anybody know why the DNR is aerating the lake? and where they are located? i've seen the signs on the shore, but i am puzzled as to where the aerators are and why they are in the lake

maybe the aerators have something to do with why the lake is so clear this year......

i hadnt heard that there is any areators in rush but you say that the water on rush is really clear and so is big pine. ive seen some guys spearing in like 13 feet of water. which isnt bad but is abnormally deep for that lake.

I'm wondering the same thing!  Low temps have been dropping below freezing and in shallow water that temp has to drop multiple degrees in a night.  I'm wondering if they went back to the breaks and are waiting again?

Public water is the Surface of the Water, not the land beneath it.  So even if you can access the river through an easement the actual land that youre standing on could be private property. Everything on the DNR Website says "Surface of Water" in the trespassing section.  I agree this is unfortunate,  but as usual, the 3 drunk morons that don't care ruin it for the 1000 that do..... standard procedure these days.  1 idiot doesn't clean his boat, and wrecks a lake for thousands of people.
