Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Slim-

Keep me posted on the fishing on Leech this winter. I have my ice gear with me in Grand Forks, well my rods and jigs and the hand auger, so i will be doing some traveling to some lakes this winter. Pretty sure Leech is only about 2 hours for me from there.

Wishn, good to here from you. We just spent the week after x-mas at the lake and I was able to get out a few times mainly to try out some new gear(aqua-vu & fish trap)the wife gave me the 6800 last year. I caught a few small perch, and only one walleye. The underwater camera works really well on leech, it's pretty fun to use. I did get some reports of panfish coming out of shingabee bay and minor walleye action in other areas of walker bay & agency. There is 12-15 in. of ice and people are driving on the lake, but watch out for the channels. We'll be heading up this weekend for some more fishing and snowmobiling. GOOD LUCK!

I, unfortuneately have not been up since just after the first of the year. We do hope to be up for the eelpout festival. The month of jan. has been a busy one and it didn't involve much fishing or snowmobiling. Hopefully this will change in feb.

Fished Leech on Sat. In our area, Pine Point, the top of the ice was terrible, it was impossible to drive so that limited our range to fish. We didn't have the sleds up there. So needless to say it was pretty slow, a few perch here and there but nothing big or consistant, anyone else have any better luck?

I might try some fishing, otherwise we'll just check out the festivities. we'll talk soon.

With 2 trout stamps you can keep double your limit. You heard it here first on the interwebs!  Me and Mr Williams will swing by and say Hi this winter in Ely.   That is, if we can get around your sled!!  Happy Thanksgiving!

There is probably not going to be much ice to speak of  if the forecast holds true. They are talking 50s on Friday, Sunday and Monday. Any ice we did have will most likely be gone, unfortunately.

Haven't been out looking but things have been froze up for awhile. Heard there was some out on Bowstring last week.

Saw something interesting on forest lake this morning...lake was completely locked up, yet someone had launched their boat and was trudging through the ice! That’s dedication! Anyone have any ice updates to report?

2 Trout stamps.  Did I miss something and need to go back and get another?

The 200 foot rule gets me a little but it has to be defined somehow what is occupied and what isn’t.   So for a wheelhouse we get to buy tabs to have on the road and a sticker to have it on the ice and go away for a little while.  Seems pretty close to double taxation since any LE can find out who the owner is from the current plate. Plus the spear shack that I might want to keep up over the weekend.  2 tags plus license. Combination sports license 2 trout stamps Waterfowl stamps Pheasant stamp  Turkey license (stamp now included) Deer license for all seasons   The bucket is getting heavy with all the drops in it.
