Ice Conditions On Rice

RiverRunner

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone know how the ice conditions are on Rice. Think it's thick enough for a 4 wheeler? Thinking of hitting Rice on Thursday. I'll post our results. First time hitting this lake any tips, how deep, time, etc. Thanks in advance.

I think that with the last few days weather conditions most lakes around here are going to be pretty safe. Good luck.

I was out on Rice Mon.(12-20)night, walked out from Fishers resort... once you got about 30 yards from shore, there was some beautiful solid ice. About 7-8 inches I'd say, and with these cold days, I'd bet 11 inches by after christmas. A car drove along the shoreline, almost to the point, but he's looking for insurance $. smirk.gif We went towards the crappie hole, and set up, only 3 walleyes all night. Them fish must have known what was coming and headed for cover. (The weather I meant, not us) wink.gif Well, stay warm fellas and happy holidays... Donk out

I was also out on Rice on Monday. Went out of the south landing and fished the break. The ice was 6.5" thick were I was. One little doinker walleye and a perch.

Have a good Christmas everyone!

Fished A mid lake hump this evening for eye's. Ice thickness was exactly 8 1/2 inches thick. Saw around 4-5 wheelers running from Fishers resort and a couple come from the shaumans bay access. Ice is setting up real good!!!!

Went out on Rice today for the evening bite. Marked 6-10 "sniffers" No biters though. My first time on the lake. Plenty of people out fishing, between 50-75+ houses out. Anybody have any better luck than me?

Two of us were out their on the 23rd. Ended up catching 4 small walleyes and 3 perch. Nothing big enough to keep. Fishing in 18 F0W off the North Access, by the first point to the east.
