Canoe on the miss??

3 posts in this topic

In and around the ST.Cloud area, are there any spots where one could safely canoe the miss by themselves? Or would two people be the only way? How is the current for fishing from a canoe?

You could put in at Wilson Park and have fun. Not much current, good fishing. Paddle upstream and drift back might work. Catfish, walleye, small mouth, northern. Cast Mepps and Rapalas or try a split shot and minnow, leech or crawler. Water is way down now. Have fun and hope this helps.

The Little Falls area either above or below is a great place to conoe. The current directly below the Little Falls dam is a little fast for one person, but if you put in at the Blanchard dam access located on the S. end of this pool you would be fine. The fishing can be very good on this stretch of river.
