Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Is anyone besides me getting excited to fish the BIG V? I have never been on the lake but I am very excited. There must be others in the series that are getting excited.

Also, what part of the lake are we going out of? I have a map of the lake but won't know where the heck I am going? A little info on which part of the lake we are staying on may help me get started.ScottS

I'm pumped for it. I have never fished the lake either. I will have to take a little vacation and pre-fish that week before! It's a big lake, I don't want to jump in a boat Sat. morning in complete confusion!
Anyone else thinking of heading up there early?

Find Hoodoo Point (southern area near Tower?)on the map, Scott. Somewhere in that area, but I don't know where exactly!

Hey Guys,
I must say I'm really looking forward to meeting all the guys from FM.com. smile.gif
My place is very easy to find, I'm on the west end of Pike bay, which is on the east end of the lake.

Just take 169 north 17 miles to the "Y"
store and take a left on county Rd 77.
There is also a billborard for Fortune
bay casino on the corner. Go 1.2 miles
and you will see my sign on the hwy.

Hwy 169 is 4 miles past the last stop light in Virginia. Make sure you don't take the turn in town it goes the other way. It happens all the time! smile.gif
The fireside seminar starts around 7:00
pm and goes until......whatever!

See you then! smile.gif

Thats it, after my tournament this weekend in Brainerd I am going to keep heading North. That should put me in Tower on Sunday evening and give me a full two weeks to prefish!! Ok, well I would have to have a job like Pwaldo does to pull that one off grin.gif

Jim, since you are not fishing maybe you could throw some of us who are not going to be prefishing a bone. I keep looking at the map and it looks like lots of water, lots of structure and lots of areas to lose my lower unit!! Hopefully that translates to lots-o-fish!

Guideman, is your place in Pike Bay?ScottS

Hey Bob O,
I do have a ramp in my yard, it can handle most boats unless you need alot of water to get it off the trailer.

There is a puplic ramp in Pike bay or you can launch at Vermilion house boats
right next door for $5.00.

I should have enough dock space for all that stay at my place. My neighbor and I, each have 100ft docks. smile.gif

Guideman,
Thanks for the directions to your place. Are you planning to have all of us launch and park at your place, or is there a nearby public launch and we could boat to your place?

If you plan to offer your place, how early can we launch on Fri morning without bothering anyone?

+1 on the Smooth Moves.  I installed them on my 1860 Ranger last spring and couldn't be happier with the performance in big water.  Lot's of adjustment and they do a great job of soaking up the rough stuff.  They are a little bulky compared to the other options, but I like the fact that they rely on a mechanical adjustment rather than air.  It would be interesting to sample them side by side in the same boat to really see if one is smoother than the other.  A friend of mine has the Wave Pro and he is happy with that also.  I was close to getting the air wave, but I'm happy I went with the Smooth Moves and would buy them again over the other two.  Good luck with your decision.  No matter which way you go, your back will be happy!

Time for some force fetch training maybe?

I am still fishing mostly lindys with minnows but getting a few on jig/minnows also. We boated 13 walleyes and 7 jumbo perch this morning. Largest walleye was 21" . Most came out of 24' to 38' depths, close to rocks. Cliff

Fished Saturday morning and trolled my way a half dozen eyes including a fat 26” plus two giant smallmouth.  Went back out Saturday evening put the trolling rods down and went Jig rappin.  Caught another 6-7 fish including another nice 26+ that popped off as I fumbled to grab the net as it wallowed around next to the boat. Tricky bite for me.  Still managed my limit of nice 16” fish.  Fishing mainly rock transitions and rock structure in 16-22’ fow.   I will be back in two weeks for my final hurrah before heading west to the mountains.

I was going to go to my dads pond but my sister texted her friend is there so don’t come. Yep last time that will happen. There is one mad monstermoose! So I stayed home.

One goose and one woodie so far today.  And will probably be our total count.  Saw plenty of birds but in a new spot we didn't have dialed in until the end of the morning flights.
