Good time to get on the water?

Anyone know when the river iced out on St. Croix river from Stillwater to Prescott?

When do people start fishing on the river in this area?

Where is a good spot for launching a boat in early spring?

I know parts of the channel is open but not sure if the boat launch is free of ice. around 94 I know the channel is but around stillwater it is still frozen over.

here is a website from turk that has a map that might help find a boat launch.

Off the top of my head I would say ice will be off in about 3 to 4 weeks, then a handfull of anglers will fish for crapppies and white bass. Launch from Beanies or the Stillwater Boom site launch, City launch in Hudson, WI, or the Bluffs Regional Park in Cottage Grove, or Prescott WI city launch.

Keep catchin'

Thanks for the tips. Hopefully with the warm weather we're getting, it won't be too long.
