DAM AT TAYLORS FALLS?

2 posts in this topic

I WAS READING AN ARTICLE THAT SUGGESTED THERE ARE FLATHEADS IN THE ST.CROIX (BELOW) TAYLORS FALLS. I TAKE THIS TO MEAN THERE IS A DAM?

IS THERE GOOD FLATHEAD FISHING IN THIS AREA? THANKS!

WET NETS!

Yes, there is a dam at St. Croix falls. Unfortunately, there is hardly enough water to hold any fish. I sure hope we have a wet spring!

This area of the river can be good for flatheads as well as channel cats. Walleyes are numerous there too, although they run small. It's sometimes hard to catch a legal (15 inch) one. I have also caught many sturgeon and the occassional small mouth bass below the dam.

If we get a lot of rain in March/April, I would suggest you go check it out! It can be really good at times.
