11/14/00 St. Croix River surface water temperature is 46 degrees, and has stay this temp for nearly three weeks, unheard of in November. Walleyes are still hard to locate however they are slightly more grouped so when a fish is caught a few more can be expected to come from the same area. Eyes are being taken on fatheads on vertical jigs and spinners off of steep rock and sand moderate breaklines in 28-38 feet. 16-19” saugers have been biting well and have been caught on spinners and minnow combo on deep-water points and flats in 35 feet. Community holes are still being hit hard, though the Prescott area is reporting better walleye action than the northern community holes.
