St. Croix State Park fishing

2 posts in this topic

I'll be heading up to St. Croix State Park for camping this weekend. Are there any spots that I can fish from shore or canoe and what kind of presentation would be best?

Are you talking about St. Croix Park north of Grantsburg? If you are, go out in your canoe and find the deeper holes. Use a slip sinker rig with an egg sinker, baited with a chub or crawler. The bigger smallies will be in these deeper holes. Also float the shoreline and cast rock shorelines with a rapala. One of the best spots is where a large log is laying in the water, they love to sit under those logs.
