Fishing the Croix Near Hudson

Guest

Recommended Posts

I fish a fair amount, but I'm new to the St. Croix and need some advice. I would like to learn to fish the St. Croix just upriver from the I94 bridge, and in Lake St. Croix. Other than casting for smallies near the rocky shore next to the bridge, I haven't had much success the two times I have been out. I have a small boat and don't want to venture far up or downstream. Does anyone have any tips for me? I love to fish walleye, smallmouth and channel cats. I have a hotspots river map, but I'm really looking for some "local" advice! Any help you give me would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I am going to hire Turk in the near future after reading the postings here.

P.S.S. I read a report in a newspaper that the crappie bite is good now near the I94 bridge. Is that true?

Thanks!
