How's the ice?

Just got back from fishing Lake onalaska, on the ice for panfish. Bite was slow but we caught enough crappies, perch and gills for a good fish fry. Had 28" of good ice in the bay we fished. But the dredged channel was getting abit on the shakey side. The ice was 18", but soft and water saturated. We fished the bay below Dresbach Dam in the evening. The ice in the bay was solid and did manage to get close to where we wanted to. Didn't catch any eye's but those closest to the open water had some good action. What a difference a few yards makes. The channel there is wide open and it looked like you could use the landing to launch your boat How's the ice on the St Croix?? Last time I was out almost 3' of good ice and with the cold nite temps I'm thinking fishing till april unless some real warm up and rain hit's us. Got my fingers crossed.
Good fishing.

Nice repo Bodyman- You are in luck the ice seems (in qoutes of course)to be in good shape, I believe many are crossing the bridge again after this set, if it's cold tommorow, I might be on charlie point (big WI point across from Bayport park)or bayport park, both good spots, and the fish be well rested...
