just got back from a friday to Monday camping /fishing trip on kabetogama. stayed on Moxie Island, fishing was fair to good.
fished near the ash river entance,on pink jigs and minnows, caught 41 fish total
14 in the slot caught 10 fish over 20"
the evening bite between 7:30 and 9:00 is fantastic. we caught most our fish from peterson point near campsite k25 on the map.
fatheads on a 1/8 oz(no wind) to 1/2oz or even 3/4 in a strong wind just drug behind the boat occasionally lifting did the trick.

ALSO!!!! we got stopped and received a ticket for fillets in possesion on the water. we filleted some fish to eat our last night there and had 4 fillets left over, we decided to take them home , well we got checked coming off the ramp and since it is experimental waters all the fish must containn the head, the tail fins and skin, only gutted basically. We were unaware that you could not possess fillets on the way out. We tried to plead ignorance, but ignorance is no excuse for the law. LET THIS BE ALESSON TO ANYONE> KEEP THE FISH WHOLE AND ONLY FILLET WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO EAT>. hope this info helps.
