Muskies in Shoepack and Little Shoepack?

Recommended Posts

Guest

I understand there are Muskies in Shoepack and Little Shoepack. I will be staying at Rocky Point.
Could anyone tell me What that may be like.
I'm Told they are the shoepack strain of Muskies wich don't grow as large as the other strains.
Also understand you have to hike in and get a canoe from the Parks Department. How does that process work? How long is the Hike?
I would like to do a little CPR (Catch Photo
Release) on my first Muskie.

there sure is muskies in shoepack, lots of them, it is a little tough go get into, especially so this year because of the frequent rains that we have had, the trail is not real good but a new trail is being built this year by the v.n.p.
the park service has boats that are available for use by the public, and all that you need to do is stop at the visitors center on kabetogama and if no one else has it registerred for that day its yours..
bring lots of bug repellant for the trail and lots of lures, because the fish are gonna eat em up...good fishing
