Just wondering if anyone knows anything about Indian Lake north of Garfield. I am suppose to fish it this week with friends, and was struggling just to find the lake, let alone fish it. We are just looking to catch fish, not targeting anything specific. Thanks for the help.

Hoss...it's a great little lake. As wayne mentioned, it had been managed for musky, but that was suspended in the mid 90's. Rumor has it there may be a lunker still lurking. Good lake for bass and panfish. Walleyes were stocked in '97...not sure how they've done, or if any since then. It's only 80 acres, so you can fish it pretty thorougly in a few hours. A couple points, steep breakline along the north side. Fished it on father's day a year ago...caught a bit of everything including a 15 inch largemouth and a 30 inch northern. numbers of decent sunfish and a few nice crappies. check the dnr website for a map.

good luck and good fishing.

Indian is a small lake that use to hold and be managed for musky. It suffered winter kill a number of years ago and the DNR no longer manages it for muskies. I have had some good bass fishing on the lake at times.
