Hello fellas,

I have a six year old son chomping at the bit to catch some panfish, and I'm looking a tip. I'd like to get out this week, and anywhere in Stearns County is fair game as far as I'm concerned (Amelia, Gilchrist, Big Birch, Osakis, Sauk Lake, where-ever). Crappies would be a bonus, but I'm looking at just making this a trip for him. Dad does more than his fair share of fishing and I want this trip to be his turn. Size is not an issue. We are looking for quantity.

Minnewaska has been good for bluegill on the Glenwood side in 6-10'.
For crappies, move deeper, 10-12 at dusk.
Also getting a few crappies on Sauk, suspended fish over 20-30' of water.
Good Luck...

Osakis would be a good choice too...check some of the latest osakis posts....
Or try Minnewaska...
