Scandinavian Lake?

Recommended Posts

Has anybody fished Scandi or Scandinavian Lake? It's a small lake south of Glenwood and I have heard some interesting reports lately about the lake...any thoughts or techniques on the lake would be helpfull.

Kicker, There are alot of panfish in Scandi, but like any lake with a lot of panfish, it also has some really really nice large mouths. We have recently got into a bunch of real nice pike also by trolling the entire half of the lake near the public access. There is a deeper hole straight out from the resort that holds alot of very nice sunnies. We haven't had to great of luck with the walleyes although I have seen some caught during the ice season. It does get very weedy this time of year, so you may have to fight your way thru the weeds. Post a reply with what you caught. (& hopefully released).

Scandi,
this lake is full of structure the weedline on this body of water is just like a slithering snake in and out and so forth.

There are also some very nice mid-lake humps.

Great body of water with some great fishing.

Saturday I tried jigging a shiner up and down the mid lake hump towards the NW corner of the lake whle my fishing partner pulled a lindy tipped with a crawler. We also tried the NE corner in front of the creek. We were trying to pick up a walleye or two, we heard they were going out there...but all we could get are some bass and a few northens...

The bass were very nice and I would have like to stay and try some of the weed lines for larges but we decided to buzz over to Minnewaska and pick up the last hour of light there.

Any techniques in particular on catching walleyes on Scandi? Seems like one of those small, off the beat'n path lakes that could really produce at times...
