Minnesota Fishing Report Clubs - ONLY 20 FREE MEMBERSHIPS Per Area - Join Today - FREE   03/08/2018

Fishing Minnesota has added a new menu item (see above) called Fishing Report Clubs. It's a way to keep the really good fishing reports coming and being shared only with those who also provide detailed fishing reports. We will only approve new members who request to join if they have already posted a recent fishing report in the area forum, associated with the Fishing Report Club area  you want to join. Initially we are going to limit the number of regular memberships, in the Fishing Report Clubs, to the top 20 members in each Club, to those with the best frequency and quality fishing reports provided in the club and less so in the regular fishing report forum open to all members. The higher quality fishing report reserved for the club of course. If  you want see detailed fishing reports/tips  around your area and will share your detailed fishing report as soon as you join, then Join Now! Some of the clubs are starting to fill fast. Use the Fishing Reports Club link in the Menu above (after you've posted a fishing report in the regular area forum) and request to Join.

Lund Boat show at Arrowwood

Recommended Posts

Did anybody attend the Lund Boat show at the Arrowood on Lake Darling this past weekend? We were fishing Darling all weekend and were either almost swamped or run over a dozen times by the boats that potential buyers and Lund reps were test driving. We weren't fishing anywhere even close to the Arrowood, but they still had to fly by at wide open speed less than 50 feet from our boat. One boat came so close that he cut one of our lines while trolling. We boated over to the Arrowood and complained to several of the Lund Boat Reps, and they put the blame on the test drivers. Did anybody test drive a boat over the weekend? If so, did the sales rep. ask you not to drive close to other boats or did they assume the test driver would have enough common sense to know how and where to drive? Does anyone know if this boat show was put on by a local boat dealer or was it put on by Lund Boats, Inc. from New York Mills? That type of recklessness is never called for and needs to be addresses.
The fishing on Darling was pretty good. CPR'd alot of bass, pike and walleye. Hope everyone else is having good luck.

ghotierman far as I know, the boat show was all Lund. No local dealers. They were there all week...started setting up on Tuesday. (Didn't mind, because they kept the Deck Bar and Grill open for the week...treated the kids after the first day of school!)....sorry the 'test drivers' were rude. I would hope the dealers/lund officials would treat your complaints with more concern. Too many idiots can just joy ride....have seen it a few times this summer.
Hope your next visit is quieter on the water, but just as successful with the angling!

I took a set of my mother's ear- rings and made lures out of them.. Do not remember if i ever caught anything on them. But they were flashy.

lakes like Ottertail Lake had 1000-1500 castles on it this year.  we are very concerned about pressure.  good points in this thread that could apply to many other minnesota large lakes.

I think everyone buying a wheel house and heading out for days at a time is what has really caused fish to move out of the area more than anything.  I think it would be interesting to have the major resorts track the fish cleaned by their guides summer verse winter.  It sure seems to me they take way more people out ice fishing than summer fishing.

There may be way more pressure in the winter but the harvest is MUCH higher in the summer.  Fish are far more active and feeding heavily in the summer months than they are in the cold water months.  Plus in the summer there is this thing called hooking mortality.  The days of keeping 4 or 6 walleyes and 10 crappies are coming to an end.  Its unsustainable virtually everywhere including a large body of water like LOTW.
