Devil's Lake

Anybody ever fished on this little lake? Heading there to stay at the happily named Kamp Kappy with the family over Labor Day, and as long as we're there, will hit the lake and a few others in the neighborhood.

Thanks!

You should have a great time fishing that area over labor day! Several good lakes to choose from, including Big Chippewa, Little Chippewa. Devils Lake holds good populations of gamefish including Walleye, Northern Pike, and Largemouth Bass. There are also some nice panfish. The bass are usually nice size....30% over 15 inches on the last survey. If you're seeking walleyes, shiners or redtails on lindy rigs dragged along the gravel/sand humps would be a good pattern. Plenty of small northerns lurking in the weeds and on the edges will attack spoons and slow trolled rapalas. Try Big Chip for some good walleye's too, but you may find all the action you need right on Devils

good luck and good fishing..

wmn luv me walleye fearme

Can;t give nearly the advise that Ghotierman can but I went out last year around the same time to Kamp Kappy. Pretty good place and nice people. I did poorly on walleye and Pike but we killed the bass. Facing towards the lake it would be in the bay area on your right. Primarily using Texas rigged power worms throwing all the way up to about 2 feet of water. Water is pretty clear so it was nice to see the bass come out of their hiding places and hit the worm. Caught a lot of 3 , 4 lbers

Thanks for the advice! I'll keep the Chippewa lakes in mind if we day-trip. My wife caught a two-pound bass not too long ago & now has the bug pretty fierce (found out that's more fun that sunnies - got her own pole, lures, everything) so she'll be pretty excited if she hooks a 3 or 4 pounder!
