warmer weather

3 posts in this topic

a few more days like this is what we need to warm the water up. the power of the sun! good therapy. the shiners havn't even run in the creeks here yet. i usually have some in the live well by opener.
kelly, do the shiners run in the rivers and creeks off of url? i noticed plenty of them that the walleyes we caught spit up. some in the crappies too. i think i have to work next weekend, but the following weekend i'm going to try to make it up.
kelly, don't you answer email during the summer? don't drop your stick in the water------jigglestick----------

There are not any shiners running here yet either. We are curious if they will run this year. Last year the number of shiners caught in Dad's traps was down just about 80% from average. The lake has a lot of crappies and walleyes eating shiners. Are the shiners being eaten up? Couple that with halads wondering if the crappies were getting thinner towards spring. Are there enough baitfish in the lake to feed all the fish?
Yes I'm a little behind in answering e-mails. I'll get it right now. smile.gif
