Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

idiot's-son,
What an name to bring back good memories of a great night. Like we told you you can choose your own name but until you do this is it. smile.gif We could have used NINETOES idea but it just didn't feel right.
I suppose your Dad made you clean all the fish too?
Do you realize how many people have fished this lake this winter and you two are the first I heard of that had one hole so hot that two people fished it as fast as they could go at the same time. After that group was done drilling all those holes the action was almost all done there. Crappie Addict Pete had one little flurry of 6 fish but that was it.
It's hard to believe that you were here so many times and we never bumped into each other. I'm glad we did as you and your Dad have the right attitude.
What a great night to end the year on. smile.gif The road was closed the next morning after the rain. Last night NINETOE took his ATV out for one more night but only got to about 2 1/2 feet of water before going "splash". grin.gif hehehehehehe He ended up riding out with some of the others on snowmobiles.
Take Care A***** and we'll get together again.

Do like "jiggle" does. Take her fishing too. :-) I imagine your Dad had a small touch of the flu that morning. :-) It was great to meet you two and hope to get together again soon.
You should have stayed one more day. Moving driveways and sinking ATV's. What more could you want out of life? smile.gif

Hey jigglestick, Kelly-p and NINETOE...

It was great meeting everyone. My dad and I had a great time - what a way to end a perfect season on the ice. The way I figure it we should be fishing the ice again in about 240 days give or take a few. Until then I'm hoping to make it up for some Spring action.

I think my dad finally figured out what he did by agreeing to the name idiot's-son around noon the next day. He encouraged me to change it - but I told him it fits... grin.gif

Hey Jigglestick - tell j.j. son-of-an-idiot is still up for grabs. shocked.gif

Kelly-P, thanks again for everything - hopefully I'll be seeing you and the gang again really soon. That is if the wife lets me out again. I think she's starting to get suspicious that I would rather be out fishing than home with her smile.gif

Well, I have to pay for registration on my boat trailer to run it on the road, and the boat to run it on the lake, why shouldn't wheel houses?  I guess I don't feel bad for the wheel house guys.

No not yesterday. 2 weeks ago when we had that first cold spell I went out on Baxter, Blue and Long and checked the ice. They were locked up but only had 1-2" inches so didn't venture out too far. Baxter probably was walkable but had open water on the back end so figured I stay off. Last Sunday I went and checked them out after that warm rainy week we had and they had open water, so yesterday I skipped checking them and went farther north. But I did notice most lakes were locked up on the drive up there. Cant wait for the local lakes to get some decent ice!

Wondering if big sandy is clear enough to spear fish when the ice comes on? Never done it before and would like to give it a try

Bryan did you check any lakes around me?

Had to scratch the ice fishing itch, so I drove up north to the Mille Lacs lake area and found a smaller lake with 4-5" of ice. Punch a few holes and found some crappies and sunnies. Nothing big but was fun time and a great way to start my ice seaso n! Bring on the ice!  Check out the video: https://youtu.be/BTTv_G07PB8
