Surface Tension please read.

Yes I was the same one who spotted the walleyes on the ice, but no I did not all of a sudden just start comming there when word got out. I am from Bemidji and have been fishing red for 7 years, considering I am only 23 that would mean whan I was still in hs. We would go up there in the summer for northerns. I herd an interview with that guy on the radio about the incident, and it was his words that made me change my mind. In an eailrer poat I stated how I was happy how he got his plane back, then when he said he had no idea about the res, no idead about fishing there, the guy interviewing asked him if he kew that it was closed to walleyes as well and he said he did not. I am an avid outdoorsman and I try in all of my power to know the laws of the land wherever I fish, and also not to break them any time. I hope you understand that it was not the action, it was the interview I herd with the sme guy.

I have had too much homework form schol to check in lately that is why this is a late response. I am not trying to start another fiery topic, just saying why I thought that he got off easy. At first when I first learned he was getting it back I was glad to hear it, then he with his own words changed my mind. Don't get mad, I think if you would have herd him (the interview was about 10 -15 min.) you might think the same.

Phisherman, I think the plane and res. topic's can be put to rest.
I will add that I agree everyone should know the regulations and obey them like you stated. Im glab a young guy like you feels this way. Set this example with your buddies and later on in life with your children. Good Luck, ST.

Nice fish and plenty of them is what has been happening this week. Almost as many slots as keepers.  We have been jigging but pulling spinners or cranks works great too. One of the attached pics is what is showing up in the deep mud, mostly Saugers now but more Walleyes and tons more fish piling in the next few weeks. Joe Paradis from Plummer Mn out with me this morning behind the fish board and, from Thursday fishing buddy Mike Lindholm with the biggest, fattest, best looking 25 incher I have seen in a while. Having plenty of fun fishing in the wind

Well, we went back up there to make up for last month. There was no making up anything! Bugs were horrendous, and the fishing was slow to nonexistent. The biggest point of going back up was to fish West Bearskin and Two Island lakes, and we didn't make it to either this time around either.    We still had lots of fun. Did a lot of hiking and sightseeing, particularly on the way up and he way home. Seen a lot of things I've never seen before. Was nice to sit out by the harbor and eat Sven & Ole's. Definitely a lot more people up there in July, as opposed to June. Well, we'll be back in October.

BTW the "no fish on my spots" was just a riff on Tom''s "no fish under my dock".  Sorry for any confusion.  I'm not much of a musky fisherman, so wouldn't know if there are or not, really.

Have heard of people getting bit before but that was a really nasty looking wound!! And some claim that Muskies do not like to eat walleyes! People must taste better! Cliff

My last trip to Mille Lacs I lost a big eye right before I saw it with the jiggin rap...Then 10 minutes later I hooked a 28.5" eye and that was the most scared I've been fighting a fish lol... Every head shake I was darn near dropping my rod tip in the water lol.
