Rainy River Walleyes

Recommended Posts

Looking at another week of fishing on the river. Water temperature remains 42 to 43 degrees. This last weekend 2 10-pound walleyes were caught along with a 12 pounder. Anglers in camp all limited and did a lot of catch and release fishing too.

Keep an eye on the fishing reports here or on our web site for updates this week. We plan to fish on Thanksgiving Day, since in the last 7 years we have not been able to.

Good Fishin'

We are thinking about heading up that way this Saturday. Sounds like it might be cold, but this is first chance to hopefully get in on some C&R fun. Any suggestions you would share as to where to buy bait, boat launching and general areas to fish would be appreciated.

Coach BWS - You can launch your boat at the Vidas access (one mile EAST of the Clementson Resort) and fish either up or down river. Down river there is a lot of structure as upriver you can also find some nice deep holes. Both anchoring and drifting seemed to work this afternoon. You can get emerald shiners at Outdoor Adventures on Hwy 11 just off of Hwy 72. Jig size 3/8 is working fine.

Colors? Doesn't seem to matter at this point.

Yes the weather is getting colder but the river temperature is 41.3 degrees today. Dress warm and catch some nice walleyes.

Good Luck!
