Rainy River

I'm heading to the Rainy to fish next friday, I'll be looking for walleyes, smallmouth, and sturgeon. If any one can help with tips and hotspots, it will be
greatly appriciated. I was planning to head toward the Birchdale area, but that may change depending on the reports I recieve back from this website. Thanks!

There is a fairly new landing just east of the bar called the Y and junction 71. Go there and fish the mouth of the river flowing into the Rainy just west of the landing. You can drift or anchor. I have had a lot of success there for walleyes and have gotten a 38 pound sturgeon there too. Also if you use the Loman landing and fish the mouth of that river going into the Rainy you can expect to get some walleyes too.
