I am hoping that the anglers of Minnesota are contacting their legislators for funding for the DNR. I talked to the Baudette DNR and they said the spring creel survey was part of the winter ice fishing survey for Lake of the Woods. This survey helps compile information on harvest of LOTW winter fishing. If they can't get the statistics of LOTW - there may not be a season, and I'm not just talking about spring, I am including ice fishing LOTW. This is the message I got from my conversation with the DNR. I have sent my request to my legislator and plan on doing more to keep the funding and the fishing open.
