Fishing Report Clubs - LIMITED MEMBERSHIP - Join Today - FREE 01/24/2018

Fishing Minnesota had added a new menu item (see above) called Fishing Report Clubs. It's a way to keep the really good fishing reports coming and being shared only with those who also provide detailed fishing reports. We will only approve new members who request to join if they have already posted a recent fishing report in the area forum, associated with the Fishing Report Club area you want to join. We are going to limit the number of regular memberships, in the Fishing Report Clubs, to the top 20 members in each Club, to those with the best frequency and quality fishing reports provided in the club and less so in the regular fishing report forum open to all members. The higher quality fishing report reserved for the club of course. If you want fishing reports around your area, I would Join Now, some of the clubs are starting to fill fast. Use the Fishing Reports Club link in the Menu above (after you've posted a fishing report in the regular area forum) and request to Join.

This past weekend report

We're back. We had a great trip! We split time between walleyes, bass, and sklunges. Smallie fishing was ok, couldn't find any biggies, but found enough to keep us satisfied. Walleye fishing was great. The most serious walleye guy on the trip kept track of the number of walleyes on the trip he put in his boat and it was somewhere over 200 with the biggest being 26.5. Muskie fishing was really good. We saw five fish on Friday evening catching one (34"). Sun we saw six fish and caught one (35"). We also had two others hooked that threw the lure.
Sat was magical!!! After a slow morning we saw nine fish in the afternoon. Three hit, but we couldn't land any of the buggers. In the evening we landed three (43", 41", & 30"), had four on and lost 'em, and saw half a dozen others. Twice we nearly had a double (I've never heard of a muskie double). We got on one cabbage bed and found six very active fish on it. The bed was about half the size of a football field, so they were in there elbow to elbow! It was like a pack of wolves working an area- very cool. All in all, it was a great trip!
------------------
Scoot
RodsbyEngel: custom made fishing rods

Man. . .I should have been there. Glad you guys had a good trip. Talked to your brother this morning and he was pretty fired up as well. We fished Big D on Friday and Leech on Sunday for skies. See the Muskies forum under the photos page to see the 45 incher my buddy caught. Will you have any photos to put up from your weekend, Scoot?
MJ

That's the plan. I'e gotten checked quite a few times this winter. It's good to see them out. Watched them get a couple guys last Thursday for too many lines, too many and illegal fish and using jawjackers... Sure is good seeing some of our money at work. Silly thing is the officer checked me 1st, then walked 50 yds to the other guys... can' fix stupid I guess.

Years back I took my brother-in-law behind Anselmo's (SP?), northwest of Jacobson Point in Head-o-Lakes Bay. I was looking for Muskie along the front of the cabbage. He had no gear so he rigged a small to mid-size in-line spinner bait with a white twister tail. He pulled it across the top of the cabbage beds. I was totally surprised when he caught several walleye. I wouldn't be so surprised if he was fishing in front or down in the weeds but he was basically catching on a surface lure in 3-5' of water in July.

Nice. I made my own like that a few years ago but without the usb port. Can run a fan, light, charge phones etc. They are very handy.

Frozen ones work better in my opinion anyway. Haven't bought a live one in 10 years.

We made a day trip a couple of Sundays ago. Fished from about 9:30 to 3:30 and my kid caught 2 walleye- 21" & 25" with a tag. In the past two winters I've made a total of 3 day trips and have a total of 10 walleye from 19-25 inches. I think the numbers may not be a may, but the quality is great. Very similar to the late 90's not as many fish, but great size.

no live ones that I know of just frozen ones. I heard the run started good than the rain came and dirty the river and moved em back out into the lake.

Brian, Under-bite = whitefish? I have not 'bled' my fish. What's your basic process? Thank you.
