Trout Lake Travel

Has anybody been driving trucks out to the Trout Lake portage recently?

I just heard only sleds were there last weekend.

Hey Jerkin! There was one small car there this weekend which came all the way from Soudan! I might not encourage that though. There was pickup tracks heading north from moc point landing and appeared to have been drilling out front as it approached the narrows between st paul island and pine and the tracks then turned around. Not sure why they didn't try to go around the West side of the island and go North towards St Marys island and narrows. The snow was mostly like concrete with very hard drifts so it's been building ice all week and maybe someone drove out this week? Trout had 14 inches ice further out you got the less snow there was. Minimal flooding where I was and it froze up quick at -23 and -28!

How bad is the slush on Trout?  Anyone been out there recently?
