Got up to Bowstring again at Geigers Trails End Resort. Went up to get some crappies nd found them but again could not get one to bite out deep.  One spot they were 7 feet thick ! LOL   So we chased perch and did great. No 12 inchers but a lot of dandies. :) Not sure if I will get back up before ice.  Crappies should be great this winter.

The crappie bite here has been very fussy, almost like ice fishing. So windy it's been tough to fish the way they seem to want it, most of the time.

You may want to consider #3 ; Rapala Jiggin Raps, or drop shoting. They both have been putting some nice size suspended slabs topside under some breezy conditions as of late. Fishing sure was downright epic the last week for all species. To bad it looks like "global warmering" is coming to an end for this year, was awesome while it lasted......

Those are some decent perch panman54. LOL!

Been thinking about breaking out the Jiggin Raps, might have to give that a shot. It's been too crowded out there this weekend with MEA going on.

we mainly jigged fatheads in front of their mouths. 2 weeks ago also and tried a few different times over 3 days this trip. water is still crazy low so I don't think many boats will be using access. Also tried a couple different plastics and some gulp. Probably ready to go crazy up there soon.  Last year at this time it was really good. Might get there once more before ice time but not sure.

It's been a 1/32 oz. unpainted jig head & a small split shot along with a crappie minnow for me most of the time. Still barely see the rod tip load or wiggle a little on the bite. Even tougher with the wind lately & 20' or more down.
