Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Marcum keeps designing great new products...this is almost a must have for anyone with any Marcum unit. I ordered one for my LX-7, all the features plus a smaller/lighter battery that gives more hours in between charges.....swweeeet!

It seemed cheap to me for all the functionality.

It's a cool idea and I've been looking for something like this, but its not worth $250.  You can get a 10ah lithium battery for $99 from Dakota Lithium.  Some USB ports + small LED flashlight + a few rod holders + 2 more amps ≠ another $150.

It really should be priced in the $100-150 range.  My two cents.

I am seeing some awesome setups guys are doing with these on web...hooking up humminbirds, vexilars, camera systems, gps units....this is taking off like I thought it would...I agree a little spendy but you get what you pay for...my guess is that in a year or 2 they will come down a little bit and/or stores will offer some discounts but at $249 not a lot of margin in them to begin with IMO.

Well If you bought a brand new unit with it. The price difference is only $150

Why do I have to pay 250 more to get the same product?

leech~~

After the design and mold costs, it costs them like $20 bucks to make that part.

It's cool and all, but who needs all that junk when hole hopping?

I leave the Marcum in the truck when I am hole hopping unless its for walleyes or suspended crappies.  I fish from the bottom of the ice to the bottom and if I don't get a bite on the drop I move.

I used mine this weekend hole hopping for crappies without the junk and it is way better than the standard LX7 carry bag and battery. Much lighter, balances straight down vs that standard case that is way too front heavy, the 2 rod holders came in handy and the lite built into the unit was awesome to have after it got dark....plus the screen sits up higher and was easy to view while standing up instead of having to drop down onto the ice which made it great for hole hopping. Have a friend in the sporting goods business and he said they are flying off the shelf.

I agree with you on that one the Marcum bag sucks for hole hopping

Like any other product...you buy another more expensive piece of course they can discount the other...you buy it separately they don't have that extra margin built in to discount it...see it ALL the time EVERYWHERE

I understand that but the price point seems ridiculous to me still. And to have a 40% mark up because we bought the unit separately?

In a game of loyalty customer base I would have sent out coupons to guys who have their flashers registered. You know they would still be making money at the $150 price point.

I will quit my :shhhh: now

Zach...good idea on the coupon to registered Marcum users...maybe they will at some point but like I said they are selling very good at this point and my guess is they only had so many manufactured and since items like this are so seasonal they will sell what they had made and re-adjust to the Market next year depending on remaining inventory from this year.
