Shock Absorbing Boat Seats - Air Wave vs. Smooth Moves vs. Wave Pro?

I fish the big water of Minnesota side of Lake of the Woods almost exclusively and purchased my boat with what I will call "truck suspension" shock absorbing seats at the helm (first row).   In the waves of LOW, these will bottom out and your back still takes a pounding.   I am planning to replace the helm seats (will need seats, pedestal and base) with one of the above mentioned shock absorbing pedestals next spring.   My boat does have high sides so will need a taller pedestal.

Looking for others to comment on their experiences with these.   Thanks.

I really like my smooth moves . I am pushing 270 lbs and not an issue . Going on year 3 now

+1 on the Smooth Moves.  I installed them on my 1860 Ranger last spring and couldn't be happier with the performance in big water.  Lot's of adjustment and they do a great job of soaking up the rough stuff.  They are a little bulky compared to the other options, but I like the fact that they rely on a mechanical adjustment rather than air.  It would be interesting to sample them side by side in the same boat to really see if one is smoother than the other.  A friend of mine has the Wave Pro and he is happy with that also.  I was close to getting the air wave, but I'm happy I went with the Smooth Moves and would buy them again over the other two.  Good luck with your decision.  No matter which way you go, your back will be happy!

Any thoughts as to which will hold up better, or be easier to fix?

I had the smooth moves in my last boat and they worked well. The only problem was that they took up a lot of room and were heavy.  I had them for five seasons and they held up really well 

I have a set of wave pro in my new boat. I used them for one season and so far so good!  I found that I am using less air than the recommended. 

Comparing the two I would say the smooth moves is more of a coushie ride with more travel. However, I did have the wave pro in some pretty rough stuff and I did not bottom out. Either one is better than stock.

I have had smooth moves in last 2 boats. since they started making the low profile mount this made it very user friendly to see through windshield the latest  model they got is prefect for all boats with wind shields . adjustability is very good .im on lake of the woods and friends with factory air seats set in these there sold I have friends with air wave pedestal on lund barons and there happy also they like the less bulky approach which is a concern with smooth moves but in my 208 tyee the beam width makes it no problem but these products are a must if you fish bigger water and traveling 10 to 15 miles is the norm
