Slow indeed. Got one real nice crappie, a few smaller ones...and a hand full of small gills. Couple more warm days to put the fish back in the feeding mood.

First spot today was really good for numbers on crappies but nothing over 9 inches. So went to plan B and found some nice fish but only a few. This bluegill looks mad!  LOL

They moved deeper durring the cold snap. Look for them to returm to the shallows very soon

Good news the water temps are climbing again and fish are moving are shallow. Possibly going to go out tonight but have to wait and see how long it takes to mow the lawn. For sure next weekend though but hopefully can get out tonight to.

We put on a few miles yesterday in search of active fish. All the padling was rewarded though. We ran into a good mix  of gills and crapps by days end.

Andi and I hit two lakes today. First lake had some fish holding on beds and some just outside bedding areas. Second lake had quit a few prespawn crappies, nothing on beds yet.

Bigger gills are starting to spread out from their early locations. Start looking for them just outside bedding areas

I took my kayak out yesterday late afternoon for a few crappies and gills and turned out the walleyes were in the weeds also. Caught a 15" and 25" in 8 feet of water on a Beetle Spin with a 2" Power Bait Twister Tail. Those things catch everything. Pretty much when I'm in my kayak that's all I throw. No pictures, still leery of using phone that close to the water with wet hands.
