Haven't speared for a few years.. My daughter has expressed an interest in going.  Can anyone suggest a good lake in the area to try?  Not asking anyone to give up their hot spots..Just looking for a place with decent water carity, and decent chance of seeing some fish.

It's hard to beat spec for clarity. East twin in nowthen is another one that's usually good for first timers. Green can be just that, but if it's clear there's a decent chance at a fish or two.

Whats your base of operation? It would help to give you something close instead of just tossing out names.

MCI

Started my day out on Ann by Orrock,

10fow and I couldn't see my white/red decoy 3' down. Very cloudy water and only 1 pop up shanty on the entire lake.

Now  I'm on Ida west of Monti. 11fow and I can see bottom vary easily. 1 hammer handle so far and I've only been set up for 10min.

Yesterday I tried West Twin (not East) by Elk River, in 10fow I couldn't see bottom but I had my decoy down 6' and could see it ok. 1 hammer handle after 2hrs. Was hoping to see pan fish in the hole but it was too dirty.
