Mille Lacs Report

Hi, my dad and I are going to mille lacs for some catch and release walleye.We will be fishing isle area.We hope to find walleyes,wouldnt mind perch,muskie,or smallmouth either.Any reports on depths,baits,locations,etc. would be nice.We are going this weekend.Not asking for hotspots,just tips and reports.Thanks

I was up last Saturday and went out of the north garrison access we caught alot of walleyes on one of the flats pulling gold hammered crawler harnesses. Wrong side of the lake but there are alot of walleyes in mille lacs right now it seems there's fish on any type of structure. Try the reefs or maybe make it out to the gravel I'm sure you'll find a few. We drove around first until we marked fish and almost all of them were on the top edge of the flat that day. We trolled at about 1mph.

If you can, head up to the northwest side of the lake and hit the flats with crawler harnesses 20-25 foot of water going 1.0-1.4 mph. Use your graph to mark fish and don't stay on any flat or any section of a flat for longer than 20 minutes without a fish.

Thanks,but we unfortunately will not be able to head north,we will need to stay southeast,hennepin island as far north as we will go.We went to isle area a couple years ago and caught no walleyes,only a ton of smallmouths,big ones.By any chance do any of you know how to catch perch this time a year?Would mine getting some for the fire since we cant keep any walleye.
