Click on the link below and watch the video, It would be great if this gadget actually works:Yes:, I know some people fish the deep holes during the open water season.

I've watched boats fishing in very deep water with 5 or more anglers pulling in walleye after walleye only to be released due to the small size of the fish.:Grrrrr: Do you think this process of releasing fish caught in deep water would work? or is just another gimmick?

Very hard to say.

Could be just another option like puncturing the swim bladder, which I gather does not really work that well!

I went to the fish house this morning and had to see if this really works, i'm set up in 22' of water and some of the perch we reel in have a problem going back down, they swim around the hole for a couple hours before they disappear. Here's one I caught this morning and it's stomach is in it 's mouth, I clipped on the small weight to it's tail  and watched it go back to the bottom on my camera. It appears this does work since the fish stayed down and eventually swam off.

Not sure what you did to release it JKRASH, but I have sent fish down many times by clipping the plumb weight above my hook or jig, and gently fin hooking the fish to get it down, once on the bottom, a nice pump to pull out the hook, and away they go. It requires a slow and gentle descent, but it does work.
