Ok, I have 5 tunsten ice jigs to give away. Here is the catch.....

I have 3 for a new member, less than 1 month on the forum. You have to post a picture of yourself icefishing within the last year. 

The other two jigs go to a member that has been around longer than a month. Same deal goes, you must post a pic of you icefishing. 

No Fm staff can win this.... but you certainly may put up a pic here...lol. 

Contest goes from Now- Jan 5 at midnight.

Just asking your opinion , Do you find that tungsten works that much better than lead or is it the fall rate that is so appealing ?

Tungsten let's you use a smaller profile but still get down at an ok rate.  I fish both depending on what fish want.

Nice idea Rick.  Should be a nice prize for a new member.

In deeper water, I won't fish without it anymore. Faster drop than lead yes, but what it does is keep your line taught, and allows you to feel your cadence much better. Shallow water, (>15) all bets are off. Lead may out produce a pronounced pounding, with a more subtle floating action. Still even then, I'm grabbing tungsten first. You need to know, that I'm a 100 mile an hour personality too, and that's how I fish, every time out, all day long, tungsten allows me to fish faster.

 I have been hand tying flies with tungsten bead heads, adding feather hackle, and dialing in the correct amount of lead wire, to slow drop rate speeds for years now to incorporate the best of both worlds. Just don't tell Northland Tackle or VMC about my stuff

This was was a bit short, but I wasn't planning on keeping anything anyways. Had to put him on a leash until I looked up the limit just for fun
