So is this good news or not?  Didn't the lake get hammered last winter?  I can imagine it will only attract more people which is fine if the lake can handle the pressure.

It is good news, it means that the DNR has looked at the stock in the lake and determined that the initial quotas that were in place last year may have been too restrictive.  However, I would assume that this season will be handled in much the same way as last and the limits could change.

The lake will get hammered if the same conditions happen as last year.  Remember that we had early ice (which extended the season) and little snow (which meant driving almost anywhere without needing plowed roads).

I went ice fishing the day after Thanksgiving - in southern Minnesota.  I know that is not happening this year.
