Walleye bite this winter

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Now that the season is over with, is anyone willing to share their reports from the winter?

Was the bite as bad as it seemed around here?

I heard of a few wall mounters come out of Marion and Jennie. I also heard Washington gave up a few nice fish too. Collinwood was hot early ice.

Anybody else??

Didn't have much luck on the "regular walleye lakes" so we went scouting and caught about a few 12-14" 'eyes on turtle lake and a few more better 'eyes on the first unnamed lake just east of turtle. I don't know how they got there but suspect that when they stocked Turtle some migrated east during high water.

Not the kind of classic walleye fishing they show on TV but late's face it...'eyes in the Hutch area are mostly weed huggers.
