House fell in

Recommended Posts

Looks like somebody was getting a little too anxious. Not even Thanksgiving and people are attempting to pull their house out. I will be happy to have mine out by New Years. Think a little, be safe out there.

Duck hunted the lake, didn't know there were even fish in the lake. What fish are in the lake?

Must be pretty small this is all the DNR lake finder has, no maps or anything else?

Rechecked there is more I have not been on the Lake Finder page for a while and it's laid out a little different. The lake doesn't look to bad?

The house was an 8x25. Way to early for it! That was the nicest house that I have ever been in. I seen the guy had if for sale a few days ago on c list, I can’t find it anymore though haha. They got it out today, I believe Ed’s towing pulled it out.

I sure hope he didn't plan to sink it on purpose to collect the insurance money, but I can't think of any other reason why a guy would pull a house that size out on a couple inches of ice. 2c

It was pulled with a wheeler. I haven't heard the whole story yet. I'm not sure if it broke through on the way out or if the house was set up for a while. I sure hope the hole is marked!

8x25???? i wouldn't even think of putting my 6.5x14 out till 14 inches. what is the thickness 8" at most?? must be a newbie to ice fishing. atv maybe and "small" solid is the most I'd go now. portable is wisest way. I love icefishing but even i use caution. guys use cation and if people start running when you start driving out turn around!

I would move my 6X8 every three-four days on early ice. Just the heat from the stove would thin ice. Then to pull a heavy house as that out, can someone say bone brain? To get that out, will take many thick sheets of plywood to build hoist on.

Not sure why people do what they do every year pushing the chance to get out on the lake, the fish will be there when the ice gets thicker.
