Recommended Posts

Fishin_addict

Heading up with the wife and daughters tomorrow for a few days of camping. We will be "roughing it" for the most part but was wondering what there is for boat in restaurants on the lake if a little change for pace is needed.

Thanks is advance for any info provided!!

We stay on both sides of the lake a few times a year. If your on the west side, try the landing. It's up in the north west end in the head of the lakes bay. Great food and its water front.

If you want awesom pizza for the family, check out Poor Gary's Pizza at the Vermilion club. Head in Daisy Bay and look for the PBR sign.

Also, Bay View Lodge is great. Located on Big Bay just to the east of Daisy Bay.

My 2 cents anyway.

Injoy the lake

For sure lots of good ones mentioned---

But the wife and I prefer The Landing...

Your wife and daughters will love it for sure--so will you!

Try the blackened Walleye Sandwich---a plate of Nachos for appetizers--and the Miller Lite on Tap is the coldest and best tasting ever...

Prices are reasonable--atmosphere is the best--right on the lake, docks, boat landing right next door, a cool little bridge, outside tables, a beer garden--

Just a really cool place--last summer the owner came up to my wife and I and said---So we have been seeing a lot of you guys--LOL

PS...Friday fish Fry with Salad Bar--!!!!

Right on HWY 24--Vermilion DR..about 8 miles or so out of Cook

Also easy to find by boat---far west end of Head O Lakes Bay---Big Red Neon Sign---ask someone if you get turned around on the water....

Also, don't forget Wolf Bay lodge on Wolf bay. Tuesday nights they have a band jam session with ribs as their special.

Plus the sand beach adjacent to the restaurant at wolf bay is awesome if you have little kids, was up their with the nieces and my sister last year and they had a riot.

KABETOGAMA FISHING REPORT AND TRAIL CONDITIONS  2/20/2018 SNOW SNOW AND MORE SNOW!!!! So our forecasted 3-7 inches turned into about a foot of snow in the last 24 hours and its still coming down!  Needless to say the trails are being groomed and are in premier shape.  If you can get up here, the next couple weeks should be awesome riding around the entire area.  Always check with the Park Service and local snowmobile clubs for the latest conditions. On to fishing……the walleye bite has slowed some but with the warmer weather coming through the weekend we should rap up the walleye and pike season with a bang.  Right now, 30-34 ft over mud seems to be producing the best.  Casey form Reef Runner Rentals and Voyageur park lodge is starting to move his houses onto the mud in preparation for what should be a fantastic late season perch bite.  We have some monster jumbo perch on Kab and the fishing can be fast and furious!  And don’t forget about our great crappie fishing.  Rumor has it they are biting but you need to explore a little to find them.  Generally the area around Ash River is a great place to start. Snowmobiling and fishing aren’t the only activities to take advantage of in Voyageurs National Park right now.  Snow shoeing, cross country skiing, the park service sledding hill and skating rink are just a few things to keep you busy in our winter wonderland.  We also have winter camping for the brave ones! It is absolutely beautiful out there right now.  Load up the bus and come visit us in Gods country! Gateway General Store

Does anyone by chance know of any resorts that rent cabins this time of year on any lakes in the faribault area. I love white Russians while sitting in my ice tent. But not so much the drive back through town to a hotel. Oh and of course there's the Busch lattes!
