I believe that fish was caught in Wisconson at least that is what the E-mail said. Got an E-Mail about a year ago. Funny people just take a picture out of something like the newspaper or such and make up a story and send it around.

what a load. I don't understand why people perpetuate this garbage. no offense to the OP, who likely got swindled, but why do people feel the need to make up a story, attach a pic and then start emailing it around? I've got better stuff to do.

I don't know how big it is but if the head wasn't all jostled up in an awkward position with the stupid full arm extension it would look a lot nicer

I might be partially to blame for this one. It first appeared a few years ago, and then was basically put to rest, but I posted it here not too long ago as a reference to another claimed big fish. Ever since I posted it, it has been popping up all over the place.

Do people have nothing better to do than spread manure?

Here's the real story: This is the crappie that was caught last week in the Mississippi river by a bank fisherman fishing for river tuna using a lunker plunker fishing in the lily-pads! grinfull-983-20406-crappy.jpg

LOL. Another one of "these" stories. If you receive news of a big fish via text message, it's not a big fish.

Does anyone remember the "Giant Northern from Rainy Lake" about four years ago? Lots of people got suckered into that one. How about the story about the DNR netting the state record? That one is so old I think it was told to Lewis and Clark when they passed through. About every July a new world record muskie story starts floating around.

That Rainy lake pike story is hilarious. The same pics were floating around last week. A coworker forwarded me the email and walks over and he says "hey, you see that huge pike caught on xyz lake" I laughed right away before even opening it.

I said, I will bet you $100 its the same pictures that have been floating around for like 5 years.

YUP! it was.
